About

Our Village Hall is situated along the southern slopes of the Hambleton Hills in the idyllic village of Ampleforth – an Area of Outstanding National Beauty.  With its breathtaking scenery and countryside, it sits within the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire where the main street forms the southern boundary of the North York Moors National Park.  We are very well situated at just 23 miles north of York and 4 miles south of Helmsley.

The Hall itself was formerly a Church School, built in 1890.  In 1965 the school closed and in 1975 became Ampleforth Village Hall.  It was extensively refurbished and modernised in 1997 with a new ancillary block incorporating a foyer, kitchen, committee room, main hall, toilets and storage rooms.  It’s also double glazed and centrally heated throughout.

We can offer you modern and practical facilities to ensure your functions or events run smoothly and are well catered for.  Some popular uses for the Hall are:

  • Wedding Receptions

  • Christening Parties

  • Birthday Parties

  • Fitness Classes

  • Leisure Pursuits

  • Meetings

Ampleforth Village Hall is registered charity – Charity Number:  504776
